Scottish Chamber Orchestra return for a summer delight at the Macphail Centre.

Since winning BBC Young Musician of the Year in 1984, Isabelle Van Keulen has been in high demand as a soloist across the world.  In this programme she will play Taktakishvili’s seldom heard Violin Concerto No 2 and also directs the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s bright and untroubled Souvenir de Florence, which he wrote in 1886 in the last sunny spell of his life.

The SCO open their concert with Mendelssohn’s youthful Ninth Spring Symphony , inspired by the beautiful alpine landscape which captured his imagination en route home from a family holiday when he was just 14 years old.
